Termination of Water Service Emergency

TERMINATION OF DECLARATION OF WATER SERVICE EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, on June 11, 2007, I, as the Mayor of the City of Homewood, did issue a Declaration of Water Service Emergency pursuant to Ordinance No. 2330, as amended by Ordinance No. 2332, at the request of the Birmingham Water Works Board to implement a Stage 3 Drought Warning pursuant to its Drought Management Plan which has previously been adopted by the City; and

WHEREAS, I have been informed that the Birmingham Water Works Board did on September 19, 2007, reduce its water restriction from a Stage 3 to a Stage 2 Drought Warning; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the restrictions issued by the Birmingham Water Works Board, Stage 3 Drought Warnings have been terminated and therefore it is the intent of this Declaration to declare that the previously issued Declaration of Water Service Emergency is terminated immediately until further declaration by this office.

NOW, THEREFORE, AS MAYOR OF THE CITY OF HOMEWOOD, ALABAMA, I HEREBY DECLARE that the Declaration of Water Service Emergency previously issued by this office, dated June 11, 2007, is terminated effective immediately and that the provisions of Ordinance No. 2330, as amended by Ordinance 2332, are not presently applicable to the use of water by customers of the Birmingham Water Works Board until further declaration by this office. I direct that notice of this Termination of Declaration of Water Service Emergency shall be published in the Birmingham News and posted throughout the City.

I request that the citizens of the City of Homewood adhere to the voluntary restrictions and limitations as relates to the days of use of water and the times of day restrictions presently required by the Birmingham Water Works Board.
