Determine Public Nuisance
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGBEFORE THE HOMEWOOD CITY COUNCIL
TO DETERMINE PUBLIC NUISANCE
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the provisions of the Homewood Code of Ordinances, the City Council of the City of Homewood will hold a public hearing for the purposes of determining whether violations of the following provisions of the Homewood Code of Ordinances exists on the property described herein below to the extent that it creates a public nuisance and whether to order the public nuisance on the property abated and/or removed after such determination:
Chapter 11 Article IV, Abatement of Weeds of the City of Homewood, Alabama, in that:
Section 11-71. Definitions.
Excessive growth: The growth of weeds or other plant life which are not cultivated or landscaped or regularly tended to which reach a height in excess of eight (8) inches or the growth of any vines or kudzu which endangers other plant life, trees, or property.
Section 11-74. Prohibitions.
(a) No person shall permit the excessive growth or accumulation of weeds or other similar plant materials, on any property located within the city, whether such property is attended or unattended.
Notice is given that a public hearing pursuant to the Homewood Code of Ordinances will be held before the Homewood City Council on the 28th day of September, 2009, at the Homewood City Hall at 6:00 p.m., at which time and place all persons who desire shall have an opportunity of being heard in opposition to or in favor of a determination by the City Council of whether or not such violation(s) exist on the property as to create a public nuisance within the City.
The property to be considered at the public hearing is located at the following address within the City:
841 Forrest Drive
Homewood, Alabama
