2017 Christmas Parade & Star Lighting

Due to the threat of inclement weather, The City of Homewood will host its annual 'Christmas Parade & Star Lighting'  Wednesday Dec. 6th @ 6:30pm instead of Tuesday.

The parade will begin at the Homewood Library, travel east on Oxmoor Road, turn left onto 18th Street South, turn right onto 29th Avenue, turn left onto 19th Street, travel past City Hall, turn left onto 28th Avenue and travel to the intersection of 18th Street.

Mayor Scott McBrayer will handle the lighting of the iconic holiday star on 18th Street as the parade enters downtown, and the lighting of the Christmas tree at City Hall Plaza will follow the parade.

The parade will include the famous Homewood High School band, council members, area businesses, groups, athletes and much more. It will culminate with the arrival of Santa Claus and the star lighting. Awards will be given at the parade for Best Of Show, Most Holiday Spirit, Most Lights, Best Use Of Lights and Best Decorated.

Thank you to the The Homewood Chamber of Commerce who will also provide cookies and hot chocolate.
